Handwriting is a perfect mind and body balance skill. It lights up unique neural pathways in the human brain. Check it out simply by doing it. Practice makes perfect.
Knowledge not shared is not knowledge. We elders choose to walk backwards into the future (Ka mua, ka muri, a Māori proverb) to share our experience and knowledge. We value ancient hand crafts, especially handwriting, and use it for good. To plant Native Kauri forests for future generations. To pay it forward for our youth and future generations. Writing to remedy 200 years of fossil fueled ignorance and throw away consumerism.
Each letter we hand write and send by traditional 'snail mail' post, carries our Ancestral Earth stamp. These stamps fund native Kauri tree seedlings we plant in the north lands of Aotearoa New Zealand. Kauri trees grow massive, live thousands of years sequestering excessive carbon emissions. Ancient Kauri forests were plundered for their timber and almost completely obliterated in the 1800s and 1900s in Aotearoa New Zealand. We are growing them back.
Our retirement community is handcraft skilled and willing. We have the time and want to leave a lasting legacy that is wholesome and good. Handwriting is an ancient hand craft passed down over thousands of years and generations of human ancestry. Authentic, trusted and beneficial for brain health, this is the simplest of gifts any of us can do here now. Handwrite a letter for ourselves, our people, our forests, our Planet.
Millions of Kauri cut for timber and forests burned for pastoral farmling in the 1800s - 1900s
